Growing up, I didn’t question myself much. I knew how to study hard, follow directions, and be an excellent student.
But being a “good student” didn’t require me to trust my own thoughts or make high-stakes decisions. It just required memorizing, executing, and pushing through.
So when I carried that same mentality into entrepreneurship, I thought it would guarantee success.
But eventually I learned: What got me here, won’t get me where I want to go.
To create a soul-aligned, fulfilling, and financially thriving business, I couldn’t just keep listening to experts and following formulas. I had to trust myself.
✨ My ideas.
✨ My body’s cues.
✨ My own brilliance.
That’s not easy for daughters of immigrants, women of color, and eldest daughters. Most of us were never validated for listening to ourselves. We learned that more studying = more safety.
So when a big idea came, my instinct was to outsource clarity: ask everyone around me if it was “right,” spiral in doubt, and wait for someone else to hand me certainty.
What I didn’t realize: I already had the answers inside me. They were just buried under fear, noise, and a nervous system trained to equate “more information” with safety.
👉🏼 The real work isn’t learning more. It’s hearing yourself more clearly, trusting what you already know, and building the body-level safety to act on it.
