I "Failed" at Entrepreneurship Many Times

I have a confession to make:

I "failed" at entrepreneurship many times.

By failing* I mean, I burned out from entrepreneurship several times, trying to make what I was doing financially viable, and I went back to corporate more than once because I couldn't make it work.

Even though I said I wasn't giving up, part of me felt shame around it and felt so deeply frustrated. Why can't I make this work?!

*Btw I don't actually view this as failing, but at the time it felt like it.

I would get glimpses of clarity or success. Momentum in my business, like a successful launch, booking clients, viral posts, etc. But I couldn't sustain it.

The overthinking, overperforming part of me would start doing the MOST.

I was taking action on all my ideas and inspirations (launchng a podcast, email newsletter, IG, Linkedin, substack, events, workshops, networking, etc) doing it all by myself, working my ass off, feeling exhausted…

BUT revenue wasn't consistent or enough.

What changed the game for me wasn't trying harder or working more.

It was surrounding myself with the right support to help me keep going.

By helping me stay connected to my zone of genius and see things more clearly, getting out of my own head and taking grounded, focused action without overthinking.

By EXPANDING my capacity for visibility and uncertainty, so that I feel safe to trust myself, over and over again.

This is what helped me:

  • Clarify my offerings and grow my business to beyond six figures on part-time hours, while feeling safe, steady, and grounded in my body

  • Build a booked-out coaching practice without burning out

  • Redesign my business model and strategy to set up a multi-six figure business, in a way that's aligned with my desired lifestyle and zone of genius

  • Feel deeply connected with my ancestors, my purpose, my voice, and my creative expression

  • Feel deeply resourced as a mother, wife, entrepreneur, and artist

and I'm glad all those years of “failures” prepared me to find my own way to make it work for me–and help other women find THEIR way too.
